The specialist for online storage Dropbox announces the publication of a new universal application, now optimized for Windows 10

For some time now, Microsoft and Dropbox work closely to integrate their respective solutions. Dropbox has thus invited in the different versions of Microsoft Office as an option alternative to onedrive. First, Dropbox gets more visibility face a competing service, on the other hand, Microsoft can sell its office applications to existing customers Dropbox. Furthermore, Dropbox has previously released a Universal application for both Windows and Windows Phone in May.
The two partners jointly announce the publication of a new version, this time optimized for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile. It will be deployed in the coming days in the Windows Store.
Among the novelties announced it will be possible to drag and drop a file directly from the file browser to the application, a relative novelty since such manipulation was already achievable between two Explorer windows. But now integrates Dropbox in the center of notifications, for example to quickly accept invitations sharing documents. On machines compatible with Windows Hello, it will be possible to set an extra layer of security and configure a fingerprint or iris scan to open the application. Note also the opportunity to share with collaborators on reading or editing a specific document in the application.
Finally, in addition to better performance, Dropbox provides deeper integration with the system and it will be sufficient to perform a right-click on the application icon in the taskbar to access recently viewed files.
However, one might question the scale "universal" of this application. If it is available for PCs and tablets, it has not been made available to Windows 10 Mobile users.
